View Full Version : Advanced Product Filtering link errors

Hello all,

I have a strange error in my client software setup. The advanced filtering by prices, merchants, brands seems to get the folder /productlist.php?rb=4-387|1-42_129 get replaced with /php5?rb=4-387|1-42_129 i.e productlist.php being replaced by php5 in the links that then definitely break with clicked-through.

Could someone please provide a quick workaround to enable me to get going.

Any tips would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Infocraze

Welcome to the forum and my normal level of sarcasm. Do not be shocked, you will get used to me!

My tip is as follows.

Identify the specific page where you are seeing this issue and the full route that you got there. Then go and check the same route on shopwindow.com to see if you get the same issue. Then write a detailed explanation of your issue and someone may be able to advise.

To be blunt, you may well have asked 'How long is a piece of string?' or to answer your question directly then I have found that tapping gently on the top of my laptop whilst whistling the national anthem cured the problem for me.

A rough translation of what confusious is saying here, hehe... :p

We really could do with a lot more information about the problem, such as a link to the actual page where your getting the errors for a start would help muchly, always easier to help fix somehting that you can actually see, instead of having to guess. Shop Window is a fairly large script with lots of working parts, we need to know which working part is not working in order help you make it work again.

Google may be able to translate into umpteen different lanaguages but, unlike Amoochi, it cannot do Confusciusese!

Thanks Amoochi - I forgot the {sarcasm} tags!

Hi,

Thanks for your responses Confuscius and Amoochi and your willingness to help. It was actually a problem with my host that was redirecting links.

I now have everything setup however I am concerned with tracking. Can those of you who have v2 of client software setup advise whether affiliate ids should appear in the outgoing urls to merchants? If yes, which I believe should be the case, then please advise what the issue might now be.

My "buy_now" links are similar to http://www.mysite.co.uk/goto.php?p=13943092&rb=3-913 without affiliate link.

Thanks.

Why don't you just post a link to your site, then we can help you directly. It's a damn sight harder helping someone who's not providing what is needed.

That link looks perfectly normal by the way, all the gubbins that gets done to the link on it's outbound journey happens post click.
