I am seeing lots of missing images or so I thought but further investigation leads me to conclude that certain images are being blocked.

http://images.productserve.com/preview/499/13722169.jpg - 403 Forbidden - what gives?

http://images.productserve.com/preview/1911/33146208.jpg - OK!

This has been going on for a few days and is making my sites look more awful than usual!

Can someone click the above links and confirm that one is forbidden and one is not!

Paul

ADDENDUM - above image now shows but others do not! Could it be anything to do with the fact that my home page is requesting 24 Hot Picks and the old issue of making too many requests too quickly????

Can't answer your question but both are showing fine for me. A bit late perhaps, but you can post/pm me some other links to try if you like - I'll be here for a short while....

Thanks for looking, Bud.

I am fairly sure that my ADDENDUM is the answer. Either my server is making the requests faster or someone has adjusted the image fetch speed dial at AW as it is randomly serving 403 messages.

I will await DigiWin's response.

Both images worked fine for me when I looked on this occasion too.

I've been doing a lot of the v2 building work on my Amoochi site in the last few days though, so I have been on it most the day and I have noticed that there are random moments throughout the day and evening where images simply don't show up properly, having done a variety of checks and found nothing wrong i've had to put it down to unexplained anomoly, glitch in the net type thing.

When it happens to me, i've found that on one F5 refresh , some images wont load, on the next refresh other images haven't loaded, then after a few times, they all load perfectly normal again.

Hi Amoochi

Thanks for confirming that you are seeing an identical behaviour to me - so this seems to be to common to both V2 and V1 sites.

An apparent image serving overload 'situation' this early before Xmas is very worrying but I trust that DigiWin will thoroughly investigate what we are seeing given that the uncontrolled recent growth of SW sites is likely to make matters worse over the coming weeks.

Hi guys,

Apologies that you seem to be having trouble receiving the images from the ProductServe server.
We are investigating this and will update in due course.

Cheers

This issue was occuring due to a caching mis-configuration and has been tested/resolved now.

Please let us know if you still see any problems.

I'm pretty much constantly on one of mine at the mo, as it's in process of being rebuilt with Version 2, so i'll keep on monitoring the images as I go along and will re-report any image issues that may happen, as i'm sure Paul would definately do too.

I haven't noticed any image errors in the last couple of hours or so anyway.
