Hey there :)

I've had a little look around but as of yet I haven't seen anyway of being able to do this...

I am looking to integrate the shopwindow API into my custom CMS, so that the content team can search for an item when editing a page, and create a widget that will then sit in the page.

Can this be done with the API, or do all Widgets have to be created via the Affiliate Window website and then added to my page once created.

Many thanks,

Matt

You can use the API to make mini content blocks.;)

So instead of creating a content widget, i use the api to find a product that goes with the content page and link it to the suppliers page?

Lots of things that you can use the API for - in fact, probably thousands.

One simple example would be to use say a word/phrase from your page and get the API to fetch say the 5 most popular products and descriptions (you could also fetch Merchant info too in the loop). Then layout the products into a content block and if you autopopulate the fetch words then you have a dynamic ever changing widget. If the API does not find anything then substitute an alternative to fill the space.

Ok then, is there some documentation somewhere about this all then, and how does it all get linked to our affiliatewindow account so we get any commision?

Sorry dont worry i've got it sorted out now :)
