Hi,

I have uploaded the SW Client Software V2 to my hosting server via ftp.

So far I have only amended the templates_c directory properties to "write" and class_smarty_sw.php file, line 68 to "false" and line 70 to "2", all as advised in the setup documentation.

I have not amended any of the template files yet as I thought I would just see what the site looks like as it is.

Having tried to access my site via Internet Explorer I get a page saying "The Website Cannot Display The Page" HTTP 500.

My hosting is on Linux and I have confirmed that they are running php 5.2 and soap is enabled. The SW client software files were uploaded into a "htdocs" directory on the server as advised in the hosting upload instructions.

Can anyone help or advise me with this problem. Am I am doing anything wrong or is there something else I need to do just to view the site?

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi dlp,

Welcome to the forum :D

I'm not sure I have come across what you are experiencing before but have a few suggestions on how to proceed.

Firstly, would it be possible to provide a link to your setup so I can take a look for myself.

Secondly, can you put up a copy of your PHPinfo. Create a few file, name it info.php and put the following lines inside it:
<?php
phpinfo();
?>

If you could also provide a link to the above that would be great.

Also, did the status page load when you first setup your ShopWindow Client? If your not sure or didn't check, please reinstall your ShopWindow installation. If this page does not load, i would be surprised if the problem is with ShopWindow. If it does load, then its possible one of the files is causing errors on your server.

If you could provide the above I will gladly take a look.

Cheers

Hi Ollie,

Thanks for your reply.

My site address is: www.shopperdropper.com. At the moment it is just the basic SW setup using the Basic page template. I have uploaded the info.php file to the following location: www.shopperdropper.com/htdocs.

When I originally uploaded the site it was on to a windows server. The status report did say soap was not enabled. I contacted my hosting company and they have transferred me on to a Linux server which they say is running php 5.2 with soap enabled. I did upload the SW files onto the Linux server but when trying to view the site in IE Explorer I just get the page saying website can't display page. If you try accessing my site you can see the page.

I am asuming that I should be able to see the basic site using the default template when the files are uploaded, even though I have not altered them in any way.

If you require any other information please let me know.

Thanks.

dlp

Hi Ollie,

Just re-uploaded the SW Client software to my host and it's now working fine.

Many thanks for your assistance.

What was the issue that caused the problem? (Just for the reference of others).

Hi Confuscius,

I honestly don't know.

What I did was download a new copy of the client software from the Affiliate Window site, then upload this to my host. Everything then worked fine.

I can only imagine that in editing various files in the original download I must have messed up something.

Sorry I can't be any more specific.
