View Full Version : User_ID
Hi All,
My shop is ready to go now, check this out www.TheBuyGolf.co.uk, appreciate if you can feedback alittle :D
Meanwhile, I do not see my user_id being tagged in the url to the merchants when clicked on the link to open a new window. How can i make sure/check if my id is also tagged?
Also, do i need to signup up manually for every merchants in my shop, (or it will be included automatically like API?)
Just worry on effort wasted.
thx,
ks
Morning Kar Sin,
Your Shop looks excellent! Fully customised solution, big thumbs up!
Firstly, you can check that your user ID is being passed by clicking through to a merchants site and checking the AWIN cookie that is being dropped.
This cookie should contain a string of IDs, the first of which is your affiliate ID.
Secondly, your Shop will include all merchants that:
- You have signed up to
- Do not require a sign up action of any kind (eg acceptance of terms)
For more information on this please refer to the document ShopWindow Client Software: Presentation and Content (http://www.shopwindowforum.com/showthread.php?t=4)
Page 11 of this document provides details of the membership types in play.
I hope this helps :)

Like the site design -- nice design ---- except ---- I use 1024 screen res and on that the right hand "Top Selling Products" is not on the right but below centre section. Would say you have hard coded dimensions in and it breaks on smaller res than you use.

It certainly looks that way here, too - when resizing the site in IE7 it jumps all over the place too.
I am a big fan of the niche idea though.
Hi!
Thanks for all your comments, it is a real disaster in IE7 ...... been using firefox on this! Will look into this monday :)
Amo,
May i know what do you mean by "checking the AWIN cookie", can you explain a little how i can check this cookie?
thx

Hi Kar Sin,
Using Firefox:
1) Clear you cookies by going to Tools>Options>Cookies>ClearCookiesNow.
2) In your Shop, click through one of your links to a merchants page.
3 Go back and view the cookies dropped by going to Tools>Options>Cookies>ViewCookies.
4)View the cookie dropped by "AWIN1".
This cookie should have your Affiliate ID within it.
Hope this helps,
Amo
