Hiya all,

This is going to probably sound a bit cheeky, But does anyone know if the template used by shopwindow.com is available to use? I like the look of it and would just want to change the shop logo.

I think "bluesplayer" uses a modified version of this template (Sorry if I'm wrong) which made me wonder if it's 'out there' to use.

Thanks

James

Hi james,

I wanted to use it as well after i had seen what "bluesplayer" had done with his/her site and then i contacted ShopWindow support and this is what they had to say;

"You can create a site just like ShopWindow if you have a good knowledge of Smarty templates and CSS. We do not release ShopWindow.com as a template because this is our bespoke show case site that has been made to show case the product to brand partners and affiliates.
The three templates available for V2 download can all be customised in any way that an affiliate wishes".

Kind regards,

Hello all,

Just to clarify here that ShopWindow.com uses a bespoke design that we outsourced specifically to give us a show case site.
The problem would be that if we gave every affiliate the option to have this template as opposed to the skeleton template then all affiliates would just take the SW.com template.
This in turn would leave 1000's of sites all looking the same because this template is finished and needs no editing. This would then force our hand to go and outsource another template so that we can show case "what can be done when using design styles and applying them to an SW install" and not what is just the out of the box solution. This new template would then be seen as a lovely new look and everyone would want the template and the circle would continue.

ShopWindow.com has been built to show the functionality of the product that we provide. ShopWindow Client Software or ProductServe API can be taken and designed however you please. There is a lot of resource available on this forum and on the web in regards to Smarty and CSS and we enjoy seeing how the affiliates design their sites differently. There are some great examples out there from affiliates, some of whom are on this forum :)
