View Full Version : Discount Codes - Thank you AW
Just a quick note to say well done and thank you to affiliate window for doing the new discount codes - it should save me ages in manually inputting the info and keep it all up to date - all discount codes now appearing at the bottom of pages on my website, for example -
http://amcho.co.uk/aw-shop/Computers
Now all I have to do is update the code for version2.........
Great work on the Vouchers thanks for putting that together. One quick question. Can you allow us to generate the voucher csv file with out having to login in please. Simillarly to the datafeeds ie. &user=[]&pwd=[]
That would help.
Cheers

I love the discount codes but can only get them for merchants that I have joined ... now thats not so good as using the SW api I dont need to join the programmes .. would be great to get a ful llist .. raised a support ticket weeks ago but no response thus far.
Great to have, but because they're listed in expiry date order, it makes it difficult to find any new ones that are submitted!
Any chance they can be listed alphabetically, or for us to choose the sort order?
Alternatively, some sort of indication to show that an offer is new/just added would be appreciated.
Cheers
Hello mrpointy,
These discounts codes are actually courtesy of Affiliate Window and not ShopWindow. Unfortunately your request is falling on deaf ears :D
If you raise a support ticket via your affiliate account and highlight your requests then they will definitely address them :)

Who is the AW contact for the discount codes functionality?
Lead balloon time from me given that I have just downloaded the 'csv' file only to find the file breaks part way through on a Pixmania discount code that does not need a discount code! No code needed - what does that mean? Not every code has a link url i.e. where to go on the Merchant site to view the offer. No means of embedding affiliate codes on the links provided. Non-sensical descriptions, typos, etc, etc, need I say more - actually, it is probably a bigger mess that the SW feed descriptions.
Basically, in the time it takes someone to correct the errors and work out how to make use of the data file then you migtht as well have built your own system. It is sad that it appears to be a discount code mash up rather a properly structured data file. I intend to turn part of the mash up into a properly structured data file just to see what I could do with it!
Consequently, are any other affiliates interested in collaborating on creating and maintaining a properly structured datafile according to an agreed set of standards?
The collaborative file would be made available to those in the collaborative for use in conjunction with a SW installation. There are several ways that it could be used.:) ;)
Hi Confuscius,
The AW support team will make sure that the right person receives and reviews your feedback :)
I think it would be great if you could create a ticket because this AW discount system is a new thing put in place recently so ironing teething problems will benefit us all.
Anyone with any constructive criticism please do send a ticket to supprt.
Regards
Could the expiry dates on the discount codes correspond to the dates in the descriptions, for example:
1084 Bennetts Electrical 5AW1208
Save £5 when you spend £250 or more. Valid 1st – 31st December 08.
Expiry Date: 2009-01-31
I have also raised this with a support ticket.
