PC world just sent an offer out that includes the following:
"This weekend only there is free delivery on a huge selection of Networking products. Please find below a list of the top sellers including free delivery. This offer is live now and will end at midnight on Sunday 20th July 2008."
Guess what ? I picked one of them at random - this one - Devolo 1145 Homeplug Duo Starter Kit - clicked through my affiliate link in the email to find:
Sorry not available for delivery
Looks like 'OFFER BAITING' can be added to 'PRICE BAITING' as another methodology for the 'ROGUE TRADER' group of merchants - this is starting to get ridiculous.
I am looking forward to a precise explanation of how I can take up this offer, albeit I am expecting the usual recent silence.
Do you think that I should attempt to buy this product through the first affiliate site that I find with this offer on it that lets me use their 'contact us' form to let them know of the problem that I will face in taking up their ADVERTISED OFFER?
Then, Trading Standards will be the next step as I think that it is about time someone took on the role of the consumer's point of view.
I should not have to be required to police these 'sharp' practices, should I?
