Hi there,

I have a website that has recieved over 3 million hits and currently only use affiliate links and banner to earn an income from it since affiliatewindow stoped updating custom content.

As I have said I have not real experience in HTML coding but I am desperate to add a shopwindow products in to my site.

Is there a easier way of doing this without employing someone to do it for me?

Thanks in advance.

Hi Aveit,

In order to integrate Client Software a good understanding of HTML and PHP is required.

What is your website?

Please feel free to give me a call to discuss.

Thanks

the website is www.ave-it.net

I am in the process resigning the site so looks rough around the edges but still get good traffic but since custon content was removed my payments have gone down quite a bit and I just know that shopwindow will work but wouldn't know how to inbed it into the site.

If you have knowledge of how to upload files to your web server, then uploading the package without too much customisation shouldnt be a problem.

You may need some help with changing the logo however.

An alternative may be using ShopWindow Direct, and driving your traffic through to shopwindow.com.

More information is available within the documentation.

Amo, Said "In order to integrate Client Software a good understanding of HTML and PHP is required. "

I was afarid this was the case, and I have to say that this makes the whole ShopWindow system a very poor replacement for the Custom Contect that was available before.

No doubt if you are a code freak and like trying out new things and yet another "sells everything" shop front site is what you are after it is great. But i like me, and it seems others, your expertise is in the subject matter of your site and not in the latest methods of web site design it is a disaster. I fear that in time I will have to remove the shop sections of my site (the ones using Affiliate Windows for content at least) and rely purely on banners and text links.

I would be interested to hear what other non-programmers think about this.

Hi Chris,

The ShopWindow Toolset is not intended to be a replacement for Custom Content Units.

We are working on those at the moment, and they will be back with you in the coming months :D

The aim of ShopWindow Toolset is to offer your users dynamic product comparison content, which in turn would provide a more informed and engaged user to the merchant (as all buying decisions are made pre click, so that the only action to complete post click is 'buy').

Although Client Software does require knowledge of HTML and PHP, ShopWindow Direct can also be used to offer your users product comparison functionality (through the integration of a banner or text link)

Thanks again Amo

Sorry about the various rants, I think I was somewhat miselead by one of the AW techs who implied the tools I needed were already available. Now I know I just have to wait.
