Hi,

Just bought a new bread maker from one of our merchants.

After doing the credit card bit if offered me 10.00 pounds off my next purchase. Breaking a habit of a lifetime I read the small print - In return for the 10.00 pounds off gift voucher I would have to pay them an 8.00 pounds a month subscription.

How many other merchants are doing this?
How many customers are taken by this?

It may not be a scam but to many customers who do not read the small print the future monthly charges may look like a scam and we may end up with the complaints.

This has been seen before at affiliates4u and it caused some upset. I for one would like to know the merchant involved. Rather than me iterate the example that I do know of, I would be grateful if you could please PM me the details.

Personally, I would then raise this privately with DigiWin to see if a public statement can be made - what this merchant is doing is not illegal but may be just a bit of sharp practice.

Hi Amcho,

I would greatly appreciate if you could notify me by email the merchant that you are reffering to.

I cant promise anything but I can assure you I will look into this with the appropriate member of our account management teams.

Personally, I'd appreciate it if this merchant was publicly named and shamed.

Hi there,

I have contacted the merchant to ascertain some more information on this and have asked them to provide a direct response to this thread.

If you have any questions feel free to PM me or use my email address.

Many thanks,
Anjulie
