How come something as advanced as the ShopWindow product search engine can't see that there is no difference between Sgt. Pepper's and Sgt Peppers?
I know you're not Google, but anyone can add a preg_replace()
apostrophes and full stops shouldn't be taken into account on searches. At present it's acting like a LIKE query.
just my thoughts as i'm trying to create some decent functionality along my way.

oh, and can we NOT have forward slashes (/) in product descriptions please. Forward slashes are directory seperators. it's almost as daft as having .php or http: in a product name!

I can confirm that this is to be changed in the new version of the API so that the same results will be displayed for the two searches highlighted in your post above.

As for the second part of your post could you please post some examples of the merchants so that I can look into it further.
George - sorry if this sounds a bit dim but you say, "this is to be changed in the new version of the API" - does this include the Client s'ware?

Yes I can confirm that this will also be the same for the Client Software.
The Client Software generates results directly from our API so rest assured that any updates made to the API will also be automatically implemented into the Client Software :)

Lol, thats a difficult one now. Ive added code to strip these out so won't be able to find any.
Maybe someone else will be able to find some on their installation.
