Hotpicks on every page?

I have searched this forum extensivly. Everyone is talking about how to get hotpicks customised per section.
I just want to know how can I get Hotpicks appearing on all the pages? I have cut and paste the hotpicks section to the category.php / product.php page but it is empty. How do I parse values to it?
