They are definately off my Christmas list. I used to be an affiliate of their's through Tradedoubler (I think). Set up a new website and sold 3 laptops for them (worth £1800) in a short space of time for which I received a grand total of £1 per laptop. They then left that affiliate company so I thought I would give them a shot (for hopefully more commission) now they are with AW.
I have requested to join them but have been rejected. REJECTED??? Why? I don't know. No email with a reason or a rejection. I am currently revamping the site I sold the laptops though (www.ladieslaptops.com) so will have to take their links off.
I shan't be bothering with PC World again but I do wonder why I was rejected. I am thinking that maybe it is because the first site I registered with AW is an equestrian website so PC World think that their products are not appropriate. With CJ, Tradedoubler etc there is the facility to add multiple websites and apply for programs for each site individually. Perhaps that should be the case with AW.
Alternatively they just didn't like the cut of my jib. I certainly don't like theirs. Bah humbug!
Not to be funny, but I can kind of see their point.
If I was the marketing person for a company selling the kind of products that PC World sell and I was sent a link to a site about horses, horsey things and all things horsey like your equine site, my first reaction would probably be not to accept the site too. You have to look at it from their point of view, they probably have thousands of people apply to their program, most of whom are likely never to send them a single sale, never mind high valued sales, so i'm sure they simply saw a horsey site as one not likely to be very profitable for them. I'm sure they'd be a lot more responsive to a laptop site.
Try contacting the merchant, Affiliate windows is a lot different from TradeDoubler, i've found most of the merchants over here are far friendler and more approachable than they are over there and I use both on a daily basis too. If you just explain to them that you have multiple sites, etc, etc and ask them to reconsider their decision, i'm sure you will find they'll take a look at your other sites and make a better educated decision.
I'm sure you know this already, but remember £1 is £1 and they all add up and it sharp adds up to a decent figure when you put em all together.
I run 15 different websites in total and yeah AWs only lets you put one main website in the info space. I've simply added the url of the other sites I thought would be relevent to AWs to the description of site bit so they see them too. I wouldn't want AWs to go the way of TradeDoubler with having to apply seperately with each url, some of my sites are only small and would never get accepted by themselves as they don't offer enough as an individual site, but part of the overall package like AWs does it and my combined site package seems a fairly attractive deal, so the little sites get to get adverts on them as a result which works out perfectly.

Well yes but I kind of object to £3 for £1800 in sales. Obviously that is not their profit but £3 is kind of measly.
I have now been accepted for PC World as they now know about my laptop site but I have declined their offer. I can get the same products from other merchants and be paid a less insulting commission for it.

Good idea. I will do that too.

Fair enough but it wouldn't be too taxing for AW to add space for listing multiple sites. They could still be covered by a single sign up proceedure. Your suggestion above is a good one though so I will do that for now.
Ta for your input!
(Forgot my main moan of no email received telling me I had been rejected thus giving me no way of responding. Maybe it got lost in the post!)
