View Full Version : Products with missing iMerchantIds

There are a number of products that do not appear to be asociated with a Merchant. The iMerchantId is either missing or has a default value of 0.

This affects us because we extract merchantids from the results of a productsearch() call to the 'Productserve Service', and then send these ids to a getmerchant() call of the 'Affiliate Service'. We do this to obtain additional information as required by our business logic. This unfortunately results in a soap error 'Invalid iMerchantId'.

Could you please ensure all products have a valid iMerchantId, and that there is a correlation between merchants on the 'Productserve Service' and the 'Affiliate Service'.

Many Thanks

:)

Hi Jon,

Would it possible to give me a list of the products that are displaying these results? Do you have an idea of which merchants these products are derived from?

Hi,

I'll recreate the error and post the Post some ProductIds here shortly.

However given the size of the products database there could be quite a few and would prove difficult to identify all of them.

This maybe easier from your side. Perhaps you could check the database table for any products that either have a null value or 0 value for the iMerchantId. As you can expect this is throwing all sorts of errors on our application, so I have now raised a support ticket for this.

Cheers

Jon

Hi Jon,

Pls do! I'll have a look at the support ticket and continue to chase this up with our developers.

Stay tuned for the latest as I get them.

so far, we have been able to detect only one culprit (forzieri) merchantId 649, which appears through product.serve.service, but is not availible on the affiliate.serve.service.
we will keep checking our site from time to time, and any further merchantIds we come across we will post to you.

ps.
the following merchantIds 1732, 1764, 1769, 1826, appear to have no commissionrange values, this is also causing a problem, could you please inform your development team

best wishes
