When clicking on an empty category:

eg. Home > Computers & Software > Wireless & Networking > Bluetooth Adapters

I get this:

soaperror Object ( [sCode] => HTTP [sString] => Possible timeout [sDetails] => getProductList: Nothing was returned, which indicates a possible timeout. Try increasing the variable "$this->response_timeout" within "class.php4Client.php" )

I see that shopwindow.com doesn't do this, so I presume this is my fault.

Can anyone suggest what I've got wrong?

Thanks

You have done nothing wrong! This is simply one of the many error messages put out when the Shop Window client still fails to respond correctlyand, I beleive has nothing to do with empty categories.

The search engines are full of pages full of these type of errors accross numerous websites and they are still being generated after the recent migration. They are also full of uselss pages such as http://www.shopwindow.com/product.php?p=14299668&c=348 as there is no default process to handle products that are no longer in the dataset. There are also routes to literally thousands of merchant / category combinations that return no results. Still some way to go before the product is a little more polished.

I have previously shown AW how to find and track down these instances for improvement!

Right - I see where you're coming from -Thanks Paul

I'm just wondering why this doesn't happen with shopwindow.com though?

Can any developers explain how they got round this?

Not 100% the answer but a damn good alternative!
