View Full Version : A couple of problems
I think the widgets are a great idea, however, I have come up against a couple of teething problems.
Firstly the tall unit 120x600 triggers a JavaScript error when mousing over the product images
Line: 128
Char: 1
Error: AWIN is undefined
Also I have set up a 600x520 unit and wanted to go back and change the products, I cannot seem to do this, when I go back to edit I can change the colours etc. but cannot get back and add/remove products. Am I missing something?
Sorry, just realised I should have posted this in the Bug Reports section

Hi Dennis
Question 1 - Java Script error when you mouse over the product image. I cannot repeat this problem in test accounts or when I look at your specific widget. Please let me know if this was more than just a glitch.
Question 2 – Yes, I think you are missing something. When you first edit a Content Widget it takes you into the colours screen. If you want to add/remove products you need to follow the back button (bottom left hand corner of the screen) to get to the previous section where you can the products in your pool.
You can call me on 020 8269 4836

No this is not just a glitch, if I move the mouse over images the JavaScript error appears, I know most people do not have JavaScript errors trapped and just get an exclamation mark in their browser that they never notice anyway, but as I am a developer I always have the trapping on to see errors on my own sites.

Yes, I was missing the Back button, however although I have it working as required now, there were a couple of funnies.
1) When I removed 3 products I was left with 57, I saved the widget and went to my site, no difference, I then went back to AW and saved it with another name, it then worked but had 100 products, my 57 plus 43 others I had never put in my product pool.
2) A chap at AW explained that I had to remove my search term, then do a search for products and it would only find my 57.
David,
The JavaScript problem

Hello Dennis
Thank you for posting a detailed explanation. I have asked the development team to look at the Java Script error and assess what we should do about it. I/we will get back to you with a more detailed answer when I/we have it.
The Product Pool Problem. After you saved the Widget with 57 products you should have noticed a difference on your site. This problem requires greater analysis at our end. So again I will come back to you with answers when I have them.
The other funny, namely a product pool of 100 products. We’ve designed the system to ensure that your Content Widgets will always display something even if all your selected Product Pool items are removed or deleted from merchant’s feeds. The Leaving a search term in the search box means that results to this term will be called up to fill
The blank spaces in your 100 strong Product Pool are filled with product that match you very last search, hence leaving a blank search box will tack no additional products onto to the end of your Product Pool.
More answers will follow,
Kind regards
David

Hi Dennis,
The JavaScript error issue should now be fixed. I have verified this is the case with the widgets posted on the a4u forum. Please check your widgets and let me know if you're still having issues.
Many thanks,
