Digital Window – Content Widgets

Digital Window are delighted to present our latest addition to the ShopWindow Toolset, Content Widgets. This innovative linking method will help you monetise your web traffic simply and efficiently.

Content Widgets supersede our old technology, referred to as Custom Content Units. The new Content Widgets enable you to populate websites and emails with products that are as specific or generic as you choose.

For example a DIY specialist might publish an email newsletter with a feature on 'Cordless Power Drills'. Using Content Widgets this publisher can now add a banner containing just cordless power drills, as show below,

Alternatively, the same DIY specialist may have a webpage discussing the benefits and pitfalls of installing a loft ladder. They can now add links to loft ladders that can be purchased online. For the example below a set of 'single product' Content Widgets have been created.

You can make any number of Content Widgets, they are all stored and managed in your Affiliate Admin Area.

Please login to your <Affiliate Administration Area> and click on the 'Content Widgets Link' in the right hand navigation box (shown below).

Any chance that we can set the widgets to rotate the items in my pool? I know that I can set up many pools and then rotate them using PHP on the site, but life would be so much easier if you could rotate them for me :p

Hi Graham

Thanks for the input. There will be a Phase II to Content Widgets that will add a great deal more functionality. We hope that the majority the extra features will come for feedback from our users.

Phase II will happen this year; in a matter of weeks, not months :)

I have an idea! Any chance that you could prompt someone at DigiWin to respond to recent isssues raised on Shop Window?

Apologies for posting here but it seems that Shop Window pains need to be dealt with urgently.

PS The widgets are neat and easy to build but a little more explanation of what the actual production procedures are would not go amiss. eg why do you have to check the product selections when the widgets work without?

I think I have read somewhere that you could set up a widget for discount codes. Is this possible? If not, what's the best way of getting the discount section onto the site do people think?

Hello,

You cannot specifically create a widget for discount codes but what you can do is (with a MyBranded widget) add unique offers that would boast a discount code.
