My intention is to keep my notes on each Datafeed online and on the forum! Please add to my comments, as you wish.
General - 437 products : Lowest price £2.99 : Highest Price £349.00
Issue 1 - Categorisation - on first inspection products seem to be pretty well categorised - 5 stars from me!
Issue 2 - Brand Analysis - The Merchant identifies the correct Brand on the vast majority of its products - 4 stars from me! However, a fair few products are identified as Brand 'A' - clearly some sort of error that needs fixing.
Issue 3 - Product Names - appear to contain model numbers where appropriate (e.g. watches) but the product names should contain the brand also, if appropriate - 'Watch KC3677' would become 'Kenneth Cole Watch - Model KC3677'. But not bad overall - 3 stars from me!
Issue 4 - Product descriptions - there are some half reasonable descriptions on their website but they could be more explicit. The Datafeed appears to contain no descriptions at all - 0 stars from me!
Issue 5 - Zero Priced Items - None! Amazing! 5 stars + from me!
Issue 6 - Images - I am displaying all images to 160px wide for evaluation purposes and Menkind gets another 5 stars from me on this one!
Issue 7 - Merchant description - far too long as follows - needs re-writing and also contains some spurious characters such as '–'. My own view is that Merchant descriptions should be written with the consumer in mind and should focus on a Merchant's unique selling points. At least the Menkind description is informative, is present and is not about affiliate matters - 3 stars from me!
This is just my first bash at looking at a specific merchant! Why Menkind? They were the only result for Arsenal cufflinks! Don't ask!
AW - please point Menkind at this!
Other affiliates - please add to this!
Paul
PS I will keep this post updated, should any changes occur, I see new issues, etc.
