I wouldn't normally care too much about typos but Bizzy Balloons have hundreds of descriptions with this:
....delivered on the morning of you choice to any UK address.
Looks pretty bad given the number of products with this in their description.
What merchants don't seem to understand is that if their content is on OUR site, then the users think it's OUR fault if it's bad.
users are only gonna stick around and click through if they trust us. If they see elementary spelling or grammer errors in the text, they'll think we're all half-wits who couldn't run a p*** up in a brewery, let alone sort out the complicated stuff like taking care of orders etc.
I know we don't do the order processing, but how many real internet users know how it all works?
I reckon it's less than 1% of the buying public who understand how it works.
C'mon guys, everyone manages the od tyypo nw an agen, but for something this important, I'd be employing a good spellchecker and possibly even a proof reader!
And it's not just potential customers we're trying to impress. It's been suggested Google et al are beginning to factor spelling, grammar and punctuation into calculating page/site quality. A suggestion which, given the common sense of it, I give a lot of merit.
