Can someone at AW address this asap.
Same here.
But just as I speak it looks OK now.
Any of you ok now?
Gerry
Yes all seems to be ok now, lets hope it stays this way.
And the lesson today is make sure you have a user friendly page to display when things go pear shaped.

What's the best way to detect if the feed is down? I've a notion that it's something to do with the WSDL file but how exactly do I check this with php or what kind of error should I be catching? New to SOAP and WSDL so any help would be much appreciated!
Hi Guys,
This should now be resolved - we experienced some issues with our load balancing yesterday, but all back to normal now.
Amo
Hi Amo,
Is the current response time for data requests as fast as it's going to get? My front page is showing 25 hotpicks (along with the category tree) and is taking about 30+ seconds to load. I'm no PHP guru so I'm not doing anything fancy, only a few loops and echos, so I can only assume the lag is in getting the data? Will things get faster over time or is this it at full speed? Cos if it is then I'm going to have to seriously look at my site design.
Well that answers my question, my site's never loaded so fast!
Awesome. Whatever you did, don't change it!

It looks like the feed has gone down again :-(
I hope Amo or someone is around to kick the appropriate box.
Dave
Also down!
Noticed it went wonky at tea time as well.
Something needing sorted!
Jake.

Maybe the server was having a tea break?

Looks like the server has re-booted and we are up and running again or someone has added another rubber band somewhere.

Some GOOD news for you guys that go to sleep at "normal" times :-)
It's 4am and the feed is running well (and FAST!) and has been all night. I don't know what Amo, Dev, elastic bands and the cup of tea did, but I hope it stays like this - The system is really rocking nicely tonight.
I shall now rush off to bed incase I've spooked something :s

Good job we're not public facing with 500,000 Unique Visitors per month!
Today:

Working again, nice and fast too. :p
Had noticed a degradation in speed the last 2 days, even with the new PHP configuration files implemented.
Not looking good:
soaperror Object ( [sCode] => ns1:Server.DB_1 [sString] => Server error occured! [sDetails] => getCategoryTree: Please contact admin and quote this: [http://api.productserve.com/][2007-06-30 21:49:57] )

Things are running Smooooooth this AM. Test box is returning results in <5seconds without the PHP5 tweaks set today. Nice. :)
Stay this way! :p
