SoapError - Please tell me what I've done wrong

I get the following error messages:

SoapError Object ( [sCode] => ns1:Client.AUTH_2 [sString] => Authentication Failed [sDetails] => getCategoryTree: Invalid combination of username/password/usertype or account disabled )

I've edited the global.inc.php file and made sure my user and encoded password is correct. Could it be because I'm running on a Windows server?

Has anyone any thoughts? It all sounded so easy and I can't get past step one!
