Hi Folks.

Sorry George, I have already opened a support ticket on this but thought someone here might be able to help resolve this as I'm getting desperate... my V3 site has been unable to reffer visitors for a week now and Im on the brink of rolling back to v2 - which i probably should have done already with hindsight. [is there a thread on how to balls up a migration ::( ?]

 I updated my shop window store to V3 a couple of days ago (a complete update of all files - not using the update script, the goto.php has stopped redirecting to the merchants..
E.g.
http://www......com/goto.php?p=42845619&rb=3-1597
(no longer redirects).
I have tried to resolve this and have ruled out the following possible causes:
1 – file permissions (o.k. set to 644)
2 .htaccess issues – does not work without htaccess file either
3 – Corrupt script – i tried re-uploading this script from a fresh download with no joy. I also tried the V2 script and still did not work, also tried re-uploading the file using binary and ASCII just in case..
4 – caching – I speculated that the new caching mechanism was caching static html versions of the goto.php file – so i disabled this function but it did not resolve the issues – I have reinstated it.
Php definitely works,

 What am i missing? Something is different in V3 relative to V2 which is stopping the goto.php script from working. I just cant put my finger on it. Does anyone have any suggestions? I have heard no ramblings so suspect that this issue is not being experienced by others - am alone? I don’t want to revert to V2 as i have made some major changes that i woudl like indexed by the big G, but cannot currently sent out any referrals...

Any of you stars go the key?
cheers

I'm embarrassed.. After much stress and anxiety over not being able to see the problem, this was finally sorted for me by Ollie [who will be added to my Christmas card list...]

Basically, the issue was whitespace in the goto.php.

This has now been cleared and my site is rocking again....

The moral of the story, "be careful when editing files in general."... and if you can’t see it, it don’t meant it ain’t there...
