My latest play is Search Engenie (http://searchengenie.co.uk), a pretty standard looking install, but with a few natty tweaks.
It's more a "proof of concept" for some ideas Ive been having and a practice at getting intune with the whole Oop style of coding.
Very simple Mod Rewrite, nothing too special, kept it keyword free for ease and to avoid the dreaded Google OOPs.
Simple Image Cache (no maintainance function as yet). Decreases SWs bandwidth usage while increasing mine, but should make the page render slightly quicker though.
Bespoke Cat Tree. Works using a database to avoid empty pages. We wont go into my reasons.
Some pretty cool string manipulation going on. everything's nice and clean, no stupid bits of Microsoft office formatting in the descriptions/titles. After 2 years, I think Ive finally got it right!
A few more (hardly worth mentioning) tweaks here and there, see if you can spot them.
Haven't really spent any time on the design yet. Ripped the old (old old old) style and images I had for that domain and stuck them in so I could get on with it. Might get it looking prettier sometime.
