View Full Version : Who Stocks - comments please
I thought I'd have a go at making a shop, please tell me what you think. It's still a bit rough around the edges.
Who Stocks (http://www.whostocks.co.uk/)
Thanks
Mike
Well, why do you use so gray color for the category list. Make it lighter.
Your site is nice web 2.0 style engine. I like it.
What I don't like is: lack of categories, e.g. clicking here: http://www.whostocks.co.uk/lingerie-c135 you get all in one big box, while there should be like sub categories to chose from to narrow the search. e.g. bras, corsets etc :)
On the bright side - you have well SEO friendly urls.
If you plan to go SEO route, then deffo you want to add at least some 100 words per every main category you have to have them a bit more unique than all other shop window sites.
Not sure if it's me, but site seems to be quite slow.
2 cents
Hi Mike
I do like your idea and the site looks pretty good.
As you asked for comments I'd have to agree with LFC's and add that I think if you could give the boxes rounded corners that would give a nicer feel (easier said than done - I know!).
Also, I think the logo & header could do with smartening up a little. Plain text can put visitors off.
Finally, the site was really slow to load for me as well.
Good work though.
Best of Luck

Looks clean
just tried a search for in the night garden sofa and was shown "cheapest online price" £22.99 @ pricerighthome even thou you show Big red warehouse price £20.54 ??
and where does the torquay holiday come into it?
I got to around 35 seconds after clicking on one of the little product images on the main page and gave up waiting. The main page loaded at a good speed for me, but the product page loading times killed my interest completely. You really need to deal with the page loading speed thing as a matter of absolute priority.
I didn't look any further after that initial finding.
Although I found the blue text on the dark gray background of the categories on the main page to be an eye sore.
Thanks so much for all your comments. I've really got to sort out the product page load times I know, I'll be looking into that now.
@IntroSites: I've been playing around with the search, at first I was ordering by low to high price but the results were shocking - I'll have to change the way it's ordered or change the button I think.
I'm going to play around with the design too, might try some javascript rounded corners.
Thanks again, I've got a total of 2 pages in Google so far hoorah!
