I was just wondering if anyone else was finding the new "terms" agreed by networks and the IAB regarding Voucher sites Hilarious.
Hilarious in many many ways.
Hilarious that finally, someone is doing something about it
Hilarious that they're not really doing enough
It reminds me of a Governmental "By 2020 we will cut X by 15%"
Sounds good to the voters, but in reality, just bollox.
I think it's a total farce personally, i've watched how online vouchers have evolved over the last few years and the whole voucher thing has gone from being a good way for a customer to save a little cash, to being a vulture driven money grabbing con, where a lot of the time, the customer never even see's a valid working discount voucher, leaving the customer even less trusting of internet shopping and both merchants and genuine affiliates out of pocket.
All these voucher sites need removing from the net or all voucher code distribution stopped by all affiliate networks and reverted to being done internally via a discount page, something like the Dixon's site has setup on their website.
Unfortunately though, a lot of merchants don't seem to give a crap how they achieve their sales, so long as the sales keep on flowing and the profits keep on rising and the executive bonuses keep on getting bigger and bigger. But hey, that's business I guess and why they make more money than me.
