I don't know if this is something that's been thought of before or anything, but after my experience of the last 24hrs with my site theft and the likes, I realised that there is nowhere on here where members can help each other out with potentially dodgy area's such as this or customers making threats and stuff like that, without guests being able to spy in on it, therefore...

Would it be at all possible for us to get a members only viewable/postable forum section, specifically where all things like this should be discussed?

I know things like privacy policies and terms of use and the likes have been covered very slightly, but it would be really handy for us to have somewhere like this, away from prying eyes of guests (who could be the person causing the situation).

There are a lot of potential situations out there that some people have greater knowledge of than others and it is a real minefield unless you know what your doing, of course proper legal situations need proper professional legal types dealing with it, but there is a heck of a lot of stuff that need never get to that stage that we could probably all benefit from the ability to discuss and have info about in one section.

Taking into account how easy is to become a member I reckon it does not make too much sense.

Hello all,

Taking into account how easy is to become a member I reckon it does not make too much sense.

We have had moderation on sign up for about a month now whereby a user will need to have an affiliate ID before you are accepted onto this forum.

They will still be able to read without a membership, however.

How popular do you envisage that this forum would be? i.e. how often would it be used?

To exercise democracy ... what are the other members thoughts on this idea?
How would it differ (other than the fact that Guests cannot view it) from the Lounge/Rants & Raves section that we currently have?

Cheers

As well as a 'Private Members Area' then I would also like to see a 'Private Area' for each Member. For example, I would happily discuss a couple of ideas with 'some' other members but I will not start the topics as a general topic as the benefits would be collaborative effort and not for sharing!

If forum users are now required to have an affilate ID (or some other connection to AW) then is it not possible just to make the entire forum private?
If you're not connected with or actively using ShopWindow and you can't post anyway as a guest, then what use is any of the information here?

I probably haven't thought that through but I'd vote for making the entire site private and vetting new sign-ups.

Ill second that Authcode. It would make more sense for it to be 100% private.
