Relevent Merchants

Hi guys, looks like there is a really good community going on here, keep up the good work!

My problem is this, i run an F1 site (www.f1brits.co.uk) that I am currently doing a major overhaul on and i thought adding a shop into it would be fantastic 9worked well before but i only did deeplinks and they kept having to be changed all the time!).

I installed the software etc and it is working fine, but i just want relevent products, the trouble i have is that the affiliate companys (Grand Prix Products, Thruxton etc) have their products in general catagories like 'menswear' etc.

What I was wondering was whether you could specify which companies to show, I thought about 'blocking' all the others in the affiliate window admin but it will take ages and as new ones appear I will have to block them, so is there a way of showing products only from my joined merchants (ie not all of the merchants)?

Any help would be really helpful!

Hi Paul,

Sorry for my delay in returning to you.

The ultimate solution for you would be for the racing products to be mapped to the correct category, and then you only selecting to output those categories.

This way, you would not have to manually manage your merchants by blocking etc, and any new racing merchants that we bring on would be included within your shop.

I will look into the mapping of these products from these merchants tommorrow and see what can be done.

Hi Paul,

Ive had a chat with our Head of Development and we are now going to add in the following admin functionality within the ShopWindow Admin area:

- Ability to Block all merchants in one action
- Pause / Suspend any new 'On demand' memberships being created

This means that you will be able to block all merchants, and then only select those merchants that you wish to promote through your shop (thruxton etc).

Then, you can call only the categories that you require, leaving you with products from only racing merchants.

Once this work has been completed I will update this thread.
