View Full Version : Some Problem with Installations of http://booksbargain.co.uk/
Hi All,
I have tried to install the showindow V2 in my site http://booksbargain.co.uk/ but failed to do anything at all. First problem is My php is not V5.4 > Your PHP v4.4.8 is too old. You need at least PHP v5.1
With this old php, whats the solution of current problems?
Is there anybody who can help me out with this please.

Version 2 only runs on PHP version 5.x.x, it won't work on PHP4 versions.
The best solution would be to go to your host and request that they update the version of PHP on your server to the latest version, or if you manage the server yourself, update it to the latest version.
To be honest though, the amount of security flaws and bugs and the likes that are left in PHP4 and the fact that it is no longer supported as the stable release of the PHP software, it surprises me that any host still uses the older version. PHP5 has been the recognised stable version for over a year now.
If your host won't upgrade, it might be an idea, not just for this, but for security reasons, to change to another host.

Thanks for your reply. I have changed the server to 5.4 but I can't find some of the files that i need to make change. Is there anybody who can give me a bit more clear idea what to do..

I have taken a look but the site seems functional.
I assume that you have now successfully changed the permissions on the cache folder as this seemed to be the problem before?
